Vice Magazine’s music channel, Noisey, has premiered the track “Dwell” from Philly-based ultra-grind trio, DIE CHOKING, and their III debut LP, impending October release via The Compound Recs. In addition, a CD version of the record will see release via The Compound and Selfmadegod Records this Winter.

DIE CHOKING’s mission to perpetually surpass their own boundaries is realized with damaging proof on their III debut LP. Stripped of overproduction and performed with devastating efficiency, III drips with a foul aggression that is frequently absent in today’s extreme music landscape, with no samples or triggers utilized in the recording and mixing process. The songwriting of III’s eleven tracks reflect more harsh hardcore and crust punk influences, the album recorded at the renowned Studio 4 (Lauryn Hill, Blacklisted, Cop Problem) with producer Will Yip and mastered by Brad Boatright (Nails, Integrity, Full Of Hell) at Audiosiege. These factors culminate into some of the densest grindcore ever captured, and one of the year’s most unfuckwithable releases. The album’s second track, “Dwell,” is exposed to the world via Noisey for the first time, the corresponding report noting how DIE CHOKING, “has grown a big reputation in short time for its unrelenting, caustic brand of socio-politically conscious, anti-authoritarian punk/metal played at tempos that come close to breaking the sound barrier,” and that III bears, “the band’s most confrontational, intense, and crust-fueled sounds yet while exploring heady philosophical concepts.”

This partnership will see DIE CHOKING making its compact disc debut at the turn of the year, just ahead of the band’s first European tour in February. Philadelphia ultragrind trio, DIE CHOKING, continues to book new live actions in support of their impending III debut LP, which is unfuckwithably one of the most intense extreme releases of the year.

DIE CHOKING‘s upcoming III LP presents an unbelievably dense display of some of the heaviest grindcore ever conceived. Stripped of overproduction, performed with devastating efficiency, and dripping with a foul aggression that is frequently absent in today’s extreme music landscape, no samples or triggers were utilized in the recording and mixing process, which took place at the renowned Studio 4 with producer Will Yip (Lauryn Hill, Blacklisted, Cop Problem), after which it was mastered by Brad Boatright at Audiosiege (Nails, Skinless, Integrity). The album’s eleven unchained tracks are pressed to mighty 180-gram vinyl, and, following suit with both of DIE CHOKING‘s prior 7” EPs, will see release in October through The Compound Recs.

In support of III, DIE CHOKING’s steady live campaign continues, with shows in Cleveland and Columbus, Ohio this weekend including a Pets Without Parents Fundraiser. Sporadic shows throughout the Northeast with Today Is The Day, Abigail Williams, The Drip, Eaten, Grin And Bear It, Hivelords, Belus, Grizzlor, Old Lines and more through September will be followed by a US tour which will see DIE CHOKING touring across the entire country including their first West Coast shows. Still over two months ahead of its release, another scorching track from DIE CHOKING’s impending III debut LP has been haphazardly fired point-blank into the masses early, with a stream of its fifth track, “The Prince Of Population,” premiered via Decibel Magazine.

Unhinged Philadelphia-based trio, DIE CHOKING — featuring ex and current members of Total Fucking Destruction, Cop Problem, and Burden — dispatches some of the most jagged riffage and pummeling percussive execution one can envision. An unbelievably dense, relentless display of some of the heaviest grindcore ever conceived, III was written during the shitty Northeastern Winter months; it is an album stripped of overproduction, performed with devastating efficiency, and dripping with a foul aggression that is frequently absent in today’s extreme music landscape. With an already unfuckwithable track record built through their self-titled debut and subsequent II 7” releases and their insatiable need to play their tunes at maximum speed in the live setting as often as possible, DIE CHOKING — featuring ex and current members of Total Fucking Destruction, Cop problem, and Burden — is about to take things to the next level with their debut full-length. Issues founding bassist/vocalist Paul Herzog quote on the upcoming album, “DIE CHOKING’s forthcoming album III is a dastardly Americanized reinterpretation of Plato’s allegory of the cave. It is a dense work and presents a politicized metaphysical cycle: origin, liberation, corruption, falter, violent degradation, decay, and rebirth. III is a brutal reference to both ancient and modern interpretations of existence, morality, and politics. This album is a short, simple and a delightfully entropic vision. DIE CHOKING: Debut LP From Philadelphia Hypergrind Trio To See Late Summer Release Via The Compound; New Tour Dates Confirmed

Philadelphia’s hypergrind violators, DIE CHOKING, will release their debut full-length LP, III, through The Compound Recs late this Summer, as the band begins their most rigorous tour schedule to date in the coming weeks.

III was recorded in April with Will Yip at Studio 4 in Conshohocken, Pennsylvania (Lauryn Hill, Circa Survive, Blacklisted) capturing DIE CHOKING’s most intense material yet with absolutely superior sound and production, the band then sanctioning Brad Boatright at Audiosiege (Integrity, From Ashes Rise, Nails) for its mastering. With seemingly implausible heaviness delivered at an absolutely unstoppable velocity, the eleven tracks on III deliver even faster BPM-rates and more complicated arrangements than the band’s prior releases, the new material merging more elements of hardcore punk and crust with their blinding speed/grind metal. Socio-political topics as intense as the music itself permeate each blazing anthem, which continue the ongoing theme carrying through from their smoldering self-titled debut and subsequent II 7” releases, with tracks XI through XXI. The impending debut LP from Philly’s most unhinged act promises to be one of the most violent, high-speed releases of 2015.

DIE CHOKING will partner with The Compound, the underworld label faction of Earsplit, for the release of III, as with both of their prior 7” EPs. The album will be issued in September on all digital platforms as well as three color variations of 180-gram colored LP with exclusive colors and merch bundle packages. Another run will see the band raid Baltimore, Knoxville and Asheville July 17th through 19th. DIE CHOKING will close the month, headlining Saint Vitus Bar in Brooklyn on July 29th. August is already being booked as the band was just confirmed as support for the legendary Catharsis in Philly on August 7th, with more Summer shows to be announced in the days ahead and October West Coast US and February 2016 European tours to follow.

Philadelphia’s frenzied trio known as DIE CHOKING, has completed the arduous recording sessions of the band’s debut LP, which will see release later this year.

Packing an incomprehensibly manic dose of their most uncompromising material yet, DIE CHOKING recorded their maiden full-length at Studio 4 in Conshohocken, Pennsylvania with Will Yip (Lauryn Hill, Circa Survive, Blacklisted, Cop Problem). Following in the tradition of the band’s prior two 7” EPs — the self-titled debut and follow-up, II, both released through The Compound Recs in 2014 — the first full-length recording from DIE CHOKING will pick up where II left off with eleven new tracks, bringing forth movements eleven through twenty-two. With even faster BPM-rates and more complicated arrangements employed in the design work of the songs, and more elements of hardcore punk and crust merging with the band’s blinding speed/grind metal, the impending LP from Philly’s most unhinged act promises to be one of the most violent, high-speed releases of 2015. Philly’s DIE CHOKING trio takes their grindblasting mayhem out on a four-city run this week alongside NYC death henchmen, with shows in Delaware, Maryland, Pennsylvania and New Jersey between this Thursday, March 26th and Sunday the 29th.

As DIE CHOKING is about to hit the studio to record their debut LP, which promises to demonstrate their most lethal and over-the-top material to date, nearly the entire thirteen-song arsenal being set out of the cages onto audiences throughout this Northeastern beating and subsequent confirmed Springtime shows both hometown and abroad. In May, DIE CHOKING raids the Midwest for shows in Milwaukee and Indianapolis surrounding their performance at No Tomorrow Fest in Appleton, Wisconsin joining MDC, Channel 3, Hemdale, Sick/Tired, Tenement, Cloud Rat and more, after which another run through NYC, New England and more awaits.

Philadelphia’s frenzied trio, DIE CHOKING, has completed the writing process of thirteen brand new tracks and is preparing to enter Studio 4 in Conshohocken, Pennsylvania the first week-and-a-half of April in order to lay down what will become their debut LP.

With an unyielding, uncompromising and unfuckingstoppable style of thrash-gone-grind speedfreak hardcore, DIE CHOKING’s already frighteningly unhinged attack will be witnessed with even greater magnitude on the as-yet-unnamed LP, with even faster BPM-rates and more complicated arrangements employed in the design work of the songs. Through the expert production of Will Yip (Lauryn Hill, Circa Survive, Blacklisted, Cop Problem) the band’s notoriously rabid anthems will be captured in the most realistically devastating way possible. Today, top-tier musician portal, Gear Gods, has posted an exclusive Rigged feature on the bulldozing accuracy of DIE CHOKING drummer Joshua Cohen (also of Cop Problem), showcasing the percussionist’s deadly works with a playthrough video. The clip includes some live studio sessions of cuts from the band’s debut self-titled and follow-up II EPs, filmed at the Brown Commune Studio in Philly with Daniel Kishbaugh in January 2015, a breakdown of the gear, and a multi-camera delivery of the band’s percussive creativity.

April will see DIE CHOKING recording their LP and playing alongside Starkweather, Darkside NYC, Edgewise, Dysphoria on April 25th in Philly. DIE CHOKING, shoved their second EP of hyperactive, earthmoving grind/thrash down the world’s collective throat, with II. Comprised of members previously/currently hailing from other acts Total Fucking Destruction, Cop Problem, Burden and more, the band follows up their self-titled debut EP with another five tracks in less than six minutes, the material swarming with even more enraged and psychotic songwriting, and more of an ominous powerviolence approach, while stepping things up in the songwriting department and delivery on all levels. II was recorded and mixed at Mark It Zero Studios with Dan O’Hare (Brutal Truth) and mastered by Brad Boatright (Tragedy, Baptists, Code Orange Kids) at Audiosiege. THE EARSPLIT COMPOUND continues to infiltrate the populous with quality non-mainstream music through its three subdivided branches of public propaganda — EARSPLIT PR, THE COMPOUND RECS, and EARSPLIT DISTRO — and here declares the latest actions on behalf of its label and mailorder sects for the first quarter of 2015. THE COMPOUND RECS methodically plots the deployment of new works from across the musical underworld through cult label sub-faction, THE COMPOUND RECS, including the new collaboration from GODHUNTER & AMIGO THE DEVIL, the impending vinyl version of Break The Clasp from LAE, and much more. Out as of Valentine’s Day is the new collaborative release from political sludge faction, GODHUNTER, and banjo-attacking murderfolk soloist, AMIGO THE DEVIL, a succinct but imposing two-song release capturing both bands in an entirely new approach. GODHUNTER & AMIGO THE DEVIL PRESENTS: The Outer Dark leads off with a barren hymn, “Weeping Willow,” wrought with both beauty and sadness, ill-omened from the start. The video for the track, created by Frank Huang (Metal Injection’s Pit Full Of Shit), was recently premiered at popular rock underworld portal, The Obelisk RIGHT HERE. On the B-Side, a stark rendition of Nirvana’s iconic ballad, “Something In The Way” pays homage to the already bleak anthem, painted with the foreboding, southwestern Americana vibe of the collaboration, which was released in conjunction with GODHUNTER’s Battleground Records. Following its CD and digital release in November, Break The Clasp, from Montreal-based post-rock/hardcore outfit LAE — featuring lead vocalist Steve Austin from Today Is The Day — is now being constructed in its prime, intended format, with the vinyl edition now in the production process. With nearly fifty-three minutes of unearthly, heartbreaking, psychedelic audio artistry delivered in four segments — Life, Hope, Love, Death — fans of Three Mile Pilot, Pink Floyd, Swans, Sonic Youth, Unwound, Slint, Shellac, early Today Is The Day and more will be instantly hooked. Having restructured their original lineup and works forged in the Y2K era as LAE-TSU, this dynamic five-piece invited Steve Austin to produce the album, which landed him a seat as the band’s new lead vocalist. Recording in founding member Marc Ablasou’s wood shop, utilizing acoustic and electric guitars, trumpet, saws, organs, pianos, accordion and more to capture their debut full-length, Break The Clasp was captured on an arsenal of vintage analog equipment, mastered at Austin Enterprises and bearing artwork by Sonny Kay (The VSS, Angel Hair, Gold Standard Laboratories label). Performing under their original moniker, LAE-TSEU, the outfit now known as LAE impacted the Quebec art and post-hardcore/emo/indie circuits in the apocalypse-ready Y2K era of the mid-1990s. In 2013, the band went through an incredible rebirth, completely re-envisioning their original songs with new life knowledge. To capture this soundtrack, the band contracted Steve Austin (Today Is The Day), flying him and an arsenal of gear from his Austin Enterprises from Maine to record in Ablasou’s wood shop, utilizing acoustic and electric guitars, trumpet, saws, multiple electric organs and pianos and more to capture their long-awaited full-length, fully recorded on an arsenal of vintage analog equipment. However, during the recording process, Austin ended up performing lead vocals to the entire album in addition to other musical contributions. On this combined effort, both bands showcase even further experimentation into each of their respective crafts, with forty minutes of material, including a crushing new opus from each band, as well as a haunting, thematic accompaniment bearing the “ghosts” theme.
