In the smoldering wake of their III LP’s release through The Compound Recs, and widespread US tour actions, Philly hypergrinders DIE CHOKING are ready to hit the East Coast with two bursts of tour dates in preparation for their first European tour in February.

DIE CHOKING will take part in this year’s 305 Fest in Miami, Florida on December 12th, performing alongside the likes of D.R.I., Noisear, Lower Class Brats and many others, the show preceded by a gig in Asheville on the way down and Tallahassee after the fest, completing a three-day raid of the Southeast Coast. January sees the band headed north, with a pair of upstate New York shows in Syracuse and Ithaca with Sulaco on January 8th and 9th.

February will take DIE CHOKING to Europe for the very first time for a two-week tour with France’s Department Of Correction. Grind Is The New Black is set to run from February 12th through 27th, the tour heavily concentrated on the UK and France, and includes a set at the first DeathFist Fest in Nantes. The final few shows will be finalized in the next few days, but the rest of the routing has been revealed.

Additional DIE CHOKING tour dates with Pyrrhon, Organ Dealer and more are also in the works for the Spring of 2016.

Recorded with producer Will Yip at Studio 4 (Lauryn Hill, Circa Survive, Title Fight) and mastered by Brad Boatright (Nails, Integrity, Full Of Hell) at Audiosiege, DIE CHOKING’s III unloads faster BPM’s than you’ll endure anywhere in the punk/metal world this year, with more grindcore/crust punk wrath than ever surging through the eleven brand new tracks. The 100-copy limited pressing of III exclusive to The Compound / Earsplit Distro mailorder in an A Side/B Side black-base Blue Splatter is available HERE, and the Blues Of The Mighty Haze and Blue & Bone Splatter Milky Clear pressings available through DIE CHOKING right HERE. A CD version will see co-release between The Compound Recs and Selfmadegod Records in early 2016.

Check out a new PureGrainAudio Geared Up feature on DIE CHOKING guitarist Jeffrey V. Daniels’ custom Ibanez Universe 7-string guitar HERE, and stream all of III HERE.

“…DIE CHOKING is the energetic, Hellenistic philosophy-obsessed future of grind.” – Decibel

“…DIE CHOKING serves in part as a venue for its musicians to push their abilities to the limits, and these tracks are indeed withering workouts… DIE CHOKING channels the intensity with a subtle songwriting intelligence that begins to emerge after the initial shock of their impact wears off.” – Stereogum

“If you’ve ever wanted to experience the sensation of self-flagellating your ears, but without the inconvenience of using an actual whip, Philly grind freaks DIE CHOKING may be just the band you’ve been waiting for… socio-politically conscious, anti-authoritarian punk/metal played at tempos that come close to breaking the sound barrier.” – Noisey

DIE CHOKING has improved with each successive release, and III does an excellent job of marrying grindcore’s inherent intensity to some first-rate riffs to create an album as enjoyable as it is explosive.” – Last Rites

“…it just fucking tramples over everything in a nasty and efficient way… If capitalism is anathema to you, and a sentence like ‘the government is cool with cops shooting dogs, and two year olds’ resonates with a really dark angry part of your soul, then you may like DIE CHOKING.” – New Noise Magazine

Die Choking Jul15[photo by Dante Torrieri]

The deluxe 12” vinyl edition of DIE CHOKING’s debut LP, III, is out this Friday via The Compound Recs, following its digital release less than two weeks ago, as the band begins to hit the West Coast on tour in support of the album.

The staggeringly destructive LP continues to rampage fans and media outlets, with a feature on DIE CHOKING in the November issue of Decibel Magazine — including a mention on the cover — and this week the album has been featured in the new installment of the Pirates Press Record Of The Week blog, unveiling the three color variants for the first time.

Scope the Pirates Press Record Of The Week piece on DIE CHOKING RIGHT HERE, snag the new Decibel with the feature on the band HERE, and stream III in its entirety HERE.

DIE CHOKING channels the intensity with a subtle songwriting intelligence that begins to emerge after the initial shock of their impact wears off.” Noisey notes how DIE CHOKING, “has grown a big reputation in short time for its unrelenting, caustic brand of socio-politically conscious, anti-authoritarian punk/metal played at tempos that come close to breaking the sound barrier, issuing of the LP, “III contains the band’s most confrontational, intense, and crust-fueled sounds yet while exploring heady philosophical concepts.” Bloody Disgusting praised the devastation of the album’s, “pure sensory assault, featuring blistering drums, raging vocals, and a wall of distorted guitars, all combining to ensure maximum face melting power,” and Cvlt Nation exclaims, “There is nothing soft about the upcoming DIE CHOKING release III. An all out brutality fest will take place in your brain once you hear this album! From the very first to the last moment of this album, this band wants to punish, and they do a pummeling job of just that!”

DIE CHOKING: Entire III Debut LP Playing At Stereogum; Album Out This Week Via The Compound Recs

Die Choking Jul15[photo by Dante Torrieri]

Philadelphia’s uncompromising hyperthrash/grindcore trio, DIE CHOKING, will digitally deploy their debut full-length this week in the form of III, via The Compound Recs, with the vinyl to see release in two weeks. With the initial release now just days away, Stereogum lets the beast off the chain early with an exclusive stream of the entire album.

DIE CHOKING’s III picks up where their prior self-titled and II 7” EP’s left off, unloading the band’s incredibly harsh views on humankind’s treacherous ways with even more intense levels of scathing and cynical wrath through eleven brand new tracks. Recorded with producer Will Yip at the renowned Studio 4 (Lauryn Hill, Blacklisted, Cop Problem) with and mastered by Brad Boatright (Nails, Integrity, Full Of Hell) at Audiosiege. Stripped of overproduction and performed with devastating efficiency, with no samples or triggers utilized in the recording and mixing process, the record captures a concentrated dose of the densest grindcore ever created and one of 2015’s most extreme recordings.

While dispersing the album into worldwide mainstream audiences, Stereogum issues alongside their exclusive, early stream of the album, “…III’s not all flying spittle and popping veins. DIE CHOKING channels the intensity with a subtle songwriting intelligence that begins to emerge after the initial shock of their impact wears off. While none of these sub-2-minute rippers approaches the kind of melodicism that Gridlink or Beaten To Death traffic in, each breathes just enough to sustain a life of its own within the album’s harsh ecosystem. The wealth of key riffs doesn’t hurt, either.”

Stream DIE CHOKING’s entire III LP through Stereogum now at THIS LOCATION.

III will see digital release this Thursday, October 8th, followed by a deluxe vinyl version on October 23rd. A 100-copy limited pressing exclusive to The Compound Recs in an A Side/B Side black-base Two-Blue Splatter is available HERE, and the Blues Of The Mighty Haze and Blue & Bone Splatter Milky Clear pressings available through DIE CHOKING right HERE. A CD version will see co-release between Polish extreme propaganda specialists, Selfmadegod Records and The Compound at the turn of the year for the band’s first European tour in February.

Having just returned home from their Escape The Pope Tour through the Northeast US, DIE CHOKING is preparing for their next massive tour offensive, as several runs of touring in support of III are rapidly approaching. Beginning October 22nd — one day after the vinyl is released — DIE CHOKING will return to the Midwest on their way out to their first ever West Coast tour dates before touring back across the country. The rampage continues afterward, with multiple record release shows, a spot at the fourth South Jersey Metal Fest and more, along the way performing with the likes of Mother Brain, Grin & Bear It, Carved Up, Rivers Of Nihil, Surgeon and more.

LAE: Break The Clasp Deluxe 2xLP From Post-Hardcore Act With Steve Austin Of Today Is The Day Available; Live Video Of “Sexy Sadie” Playing At Heavy Blog Is Heavy

LAE-7708_web [photo by Yannick Grandmont][photo by Yannick Grandmont]

This week, Break The Clasp, the debut album from LAE — the Montreal-based psychedelic post-hardcore quintet fronted by Steve Austin of Today Is The Day — is finally available in its deluxe double-12” vinyl format via The Compound Recs and Battleground Records. A live video of the LP-opener, “Sexy Sadie,” filmed at the band’s first show early this month, has also been released.

LAE’s thirteen-song, nearly hour-long Break The Clasp was recorded in full analog in main songwriter/guitarist Marc Lucas Ablasou’s woodshop in Montreal by Steve Austin of Today Is The Day, who provides lead vocals to the album, the lineup completed by Ronald Jean-Gilles, Serge Nakauchi Pelletier and Stephane Desgroseilliers. Captured on vintage 1970s equipment utilizing a range of guitars, basses, drums, accordion, trumpet, saws, organs, pianos, electronics and a multitude of vocal styles, the band creates a mystical incredibly heartbreaking four-part storyline of Life, Love, Hope and Death, mastered by Austin at his own Austin Enterprises (Converge, Burn The Priest/Lamb of God, Deadguy), and resembling a Martian relative of Three Mile Pilot, Swans, Slint, Pink Floyd, Shellac and Mogwai.

LAE began performing live earlier this month, having played their first show to a receptive hometown crowd in Montreal which was captured on video. A sample of the performance has been released in the form of “Sexy Sadie,” the first song from the set, and opening track from Break The Clasp, showcasing the sad, explosive and forceful delivery of the band. Heavy Blog Is Heavy is now playing the video, showcasing the band online live for the first time, offering, “It’s very downtuned, heavy rock, and has a sludge vibe to it, which fit vocalist Steve Austin‘s unique pipes well…”

Watch “Sexy Sadie” live courtesy of Heavy Blog Is Heavy at THIS LOCATION.

LAE’s first official video, created by director David Hall of Handshake Inc. (Today Is The Day, Brutal Truth, Pyrrhon) for the song “To Give You The Stars Above,” is playing at Exclaim! Magazine HERE.

Co-released between The Compound Recs and Battleground Records on CD and digital platforms late last year, LAE’s Break The Clasp is this available this Friday, September 25th in a deluxe vinyl version.

The beautiful package showcases the otherworldly cover art by Sonny Kay (The VSS, Angel Hair, Gold Standard Laboratories label, etc.) and sees the album pressed on two slabs of 180-gram black vinyl with poly-lined inner sleeves, a full-color gatefold cardboard outer sleeve with front and back cover spot varnish including a free digital download.

Orders for the 2xLP and CD versions of Break The Clasp are now available via The Compound Recs HERE and Battleground HERE, and the record is streaming and available digitally RIGHT HERE.

A new video for the song “Sister” and additional live performances from LAE will be announced in the coming days.

Steve Austin recently scored the upcoming Hollywood release of Addiction: A 60’s Love Story. Directed by Tate Steinseck (Face Off) and set for release through Breaking Glass Pictures, Addiction: A 60’s Love Story takes place in New York City, in 1968. Austin created a dark, afflicted, psychedelic soundtrack to match the film’s delivery. Additionally, several of Austin’s prior recordings were worked into the soundtrack, including the emotional “Broken Knee” ballad from LAE’s Break The Clasp and several Today Is The Day tracks. Addiction: A 60’s Love Story is set to premiere in Hollywood on November 3rd, 2015. View the film’s official trailer at Entertainment Tonight Online HERE, and the official IMDB listing for the movie HERE.

DIE CHOKING Leaks “Millirem” Via Bloody-Disgusting; Band Embarks On Escape The Pope Tour As III LP Nears Release Through The Compound Recs

Another vicious portion of antagonized grindcore vengeance from DIE CHOKING is today rammed down the public’s collective throat courtesy of Bloody-Disgusting, as the massive horror culture site premieres “Millirem,” the opening track from the trio’s rapidly approaching III debut LP.

DIE CHOKING will also embark on a Northeastern blast of tour dates this week, now dubbed, Escape The Pope 2015, as this pontiff character invades the region making daily life insufferable for all nonbelievers dwelling near several major cities, including the band’s hometown of Philadelphia.

DIE CHOKING’s III —recorded at the renowned Studio 4 (Lauryn Hill, Blacklisted, Cop Problem) with producer Will Yip and mastered by Brad Boatright (Nails, Integrity, Full Of Hell) at Audiosiege — is a record stripped of overproduction and performed with devastating efficiency, with no samples or triggers utilized in the recording and mixing process, resulting in some of the densest grindcore ever captured, and one of the year’s most unfuckwithable releases. With III now less than three weeks from its initial street date via Earsplit’s DIY sect, The Compound Recs, the violent album-opening “Millirem” is delivered as an appropriate warning shot as to what listeners should expect from the additional ten tracks III beholds. It’s a blistering, whiplash-inducing beatdown of immeasurable proportions, as described by founding bassist/vocalist Paul Herzog, “This song represents an uncontrolled outburst of radiation at an instant of birth or death. Pulsation. Particles. Pre-existence. I have a rabid obsession with puking out waves of aural energy.” As per the fearless scribes at Bloody-Disgusting, the track discharges, “just over 90 seconds of pure sensory assault, featuring blistering drums, raging vocals, and a wall of distorted guitars, all combining to ensure maximum face melting power.”

Blaze yourself to nothingness with DIE CHOKING’s “Millirem” at Bloody-Disgusting right fucking HERE.

The ongoing III campaign has also yielded “Dwell” through Noisey RIGHT HERE, “The Prince Of Population” via Decibel HERE and “Death’s Waveform” at Cvlt Nation HERE.

III will see digital release on October 8th and the vinyl on October 23rd.

DIE CHOKING, a band continually performing live, will take it to the next level in the coming weeks, with their Escape The Pope 2015 Tour, which begins this Thursday, September 24th — sees the band scathing Providence, Worcester, Manchester, Washington DC and Philadelphia — the last show on the 30th. Along the way they shall shred with the likes of Today Is The Day, Abigail Williams, Empty Vessels, ACxDC, Ramlord, Grizzor and more.

A III-based album release tour begins on October 22nd — one day after the vinyl version of the record is officially available DIY-style — which sees DIE CHOKING storming again into the Midwest, then out to the West Coast for the first time before swinging back home. Once back on the East Coast again, the rampage continues, including two record release shows, a return headlining show in Brooklyn and a spot at the fourth South Jersey Metal Fest, performing with the likes of Mother Brain, Grin & Bear It, Carved Up, Rivers Of Nihil, Surgeon and more.

DIE CHOKING: Noisey Unloads Single From The Compound Recs Debut LP; CD Co-Release With Selfmadegod Records + Axis Percussion Endorsement Secured

Vice Magazine’s music channel, Noisey, has premiered the track “Dwell” from Philly-based ultra-grind trio, DIE CHOKING, and their III debut LP, impending October release via The Compound Recs. In addition, a CD version of the record will see release via The Compound and Selfmadegod Records this Winter.

DIE CHOKING’s mission to perpetually surpass their own boundaries is realized with damaging proof on their III debut LP. Stripped of overproduction and performed with devastating efficiency, III drips with a foul aggression that is frequently absent in today’s extreme music landscape, with no samples or triggers utilized in the recording and mixing process. The songwriting of III’s eleven tracks reflect more harsh hardcore and crust punk influences, the album recorded at the renowned Studio 4 (Lauryn Hill, Blacklisted, Cop Problem) with producer Will Yip and mastered by Brad Boatright (Nails, Integrity, Full Of Hell) at Audiosiege. These factors culminate into some of the densest grindcore ever captured, and one of the year’s most unfuckwithable releases. The album’s second track, “Dwell,” is exposed to the world via Noisey for the first time, the corresponding report noting how DIE CHOKING, “has grown a big reputation in short time for its unrelenting, caustic brand of socio-politically conscious, anti-authoritarian punk/metal played at tempos that come close to breaking the sound barrier,” and that III bears, “the band’s most confrontational, intense, and crust-fueled sounds yet while exploring heady philosophical concepts.”

Unload DIE CHOKING’s “Dwell” via Noisey RIGHT HERE.

Also hear III’s “The Prince Of Population” at Decibel Magazine RIGHT HERE and “Death’s Waveform” at Cvlt Nation HERE.

III will see digital release on October 8th and the vinyl on October 23rd in an alliance with Earsplit’s label faction, The Compound Recs. The LP is pressed on 180-gram wax in three insane color variants — 100 in an A Side/B Side black-base 2 Blue Splatter, exclusive to The Compound HERE, and 200 each of Blues Of The Mighty Haze and Blue & Bone Splatter Milky Clear through the band HERE.

And this just in; The Compound will co-release a CD version of III with Polish extreme propaganda specialists, Selfmadegod Records. This partnership will see DIE CHOKING making its compact disc debut at the turn of the year, just ahead of the band’s first European tour in February. A release date and further info on the CD will be available shortly.

Also just locked, DIE CHOKING drummer Joshua Cohen has been added to the roster of endorsed clients at the mighty drum equipment manufacturer, Axis Percussion.

DIE CHOKING Books New Tour Dates As III Debut LP Nears Via The Compound Recs; Fresh Live Footage Posted

Die Choking Jul15

Philadelphia ultragrind trio, DIE CHOKING, continues to book new live actions in support of their impending III debut LP, which is unfuckwithably one of the most intense extreme releases of the year.

DIE CHOKING‘s upcoming III LP presents an unbelievably dense display of some of the heaviest grindcore ever conceived. Stripped of overproduction, performed with devastating efficiency, and dripping with a foul aggression that is frequently absent in today’s extreme music landscape, no samples or triggers were utilized in the recording and mixing process, which took place at the renowned Studio 4 with producer Will Yip (Lauryn Hill, Blacklisted, Cop Problem), after which it was mastered by Brad Boatright at Audiosiege (Nails, Skinless, Integrity). The album’s eleven unchained tracks are pressed to mighty 180-gram vinyl, and, following suit with both of DIE CHOKING‘s prior 7” EPs, will see release in October through The Compound Recs.

In support of III, DIE CHOKING’s steady live campaign continues, with shows in Cleveland and Columbus, Ohio this weekend including a Pets Without Parents Fundraiser. Sporadic shows throughout the Northeast with Today Is The Day, Abigail Williams, The Drip, Eaten, Grin And Bear It, Hivelords, Belus, Grizzlor, Old Lines and more through September will be followed by a US tour which will see DIE CHOKING touring across the entire country including their first West Coast shows. Europe will be raided in February as well.

III will see digital release on October 8th and the vinyl on October 23rd. The LP is pressed on 180-gram wax in three insane color variants — 100 in an A Side/B Side black-base 2 Blue Splatter, exclusive to The Compound, available HERE, and 200 each of Blues Of The Mighty Haze and Blue & Bone Splatter Milky Clear available through the band HERE.

Hear DIE CHOKING’s “The Prince Of Population” through Decibel Magazine RIGHT HERE and “Death’s Waveform” via Cvlt Nation RIGHT HERE.

Recent live footage of DIE CHOKING supporting Catharsis in Philly was released by Hate5Six HERE and their headlining set in Brooklyn is at Metal Injection HERE. Stand by for additional audio, official videos and more on III as the album nears release.

LAE: Montreal-Based Post-Hardcore Act Issues “To Give You The Stars Above” Video Through Exclaim; Band Books First Show + Break The Clasp Deluxe 2xLP Preorders Available

lae-2015

Break The Clasp, the debut album from LAE — the Montreal-based psychedelic post-hardcore quintet fronted by Steve Austin of Today Is The Day — is now finally ready for release in its deluxe vinyl format. Alongside preorders for the massive 2xLP edition, an official video for the incredibly heartbreaking “To Give You The Stars Above” has been released through an exclusive premiere at Exclaim! Magazine. LAE will also play their very first live performance in early September.

The incredibly expansive torrent of emotions contained on LAE’s nearly hour-long Break The Clasp features standout performances from each member, the album recorded in full analog in main songwriter Marc Lucas Ablasou’s woodshop in Montreal by Steve Austin of Today Is The Day, who ended up providing lead vocals to the entire album, and the lineup completed by Ronald Jean-Gilles, Serge Nakauchi Pelletier and Stephane Desgroseilliers. Re-envisioning their original anthems penned under initial moniker LAE-TSEU in the mid-late 1990s alongside new songs, the band recorded live on vintage 1970s equipment utilizing a range of guitars, basses, drums, accordion, trumpet, saws, organs, pianos, electronics and a multitude of vocal styles into a four-part storyline of Life, Love, Hope and Death. The record was then mastered by Austin at his own Austin Enterprises (Converge, Burn The Priest/Lamb of God, Deadguy).

Of the thirteen songs Break The Clasp encapsulates, “To Give You The Stars Above” takes the emotive outpouring of LAE to the most inconsolably sad levels on record. Collecting a spread of joyous family film clips, the official video for the song creates a polar opposite vibe of the actual music, further accenting its despondent tones, culminating in an incredibly sad display of what Break The Clasp has to offer. The video was created by director David Hall of Handshake Inc. (Today Is The Day, Brutal Truth, Maryland Deathfest The Movie), who alongside the band, has issued a statement about the creation of the new video. Both statements are now running with an exclusive premiere of the video through Exclaim! Magazine.

View LAE’s “To Give You The Stars Above” video exclusively through Exclaim! now at THIS LOCATION.

Additionally, a new video for the track “Sister” is in the construction process for release in the coming weeks. The entire album is available for streaming RIGHT HERE.

LAE has also booked their very first show since the band’s initial incarnation as LAE-TSEU in the pre-Y2K era! The outfit will perform a set in their hometown of Montreal on September 5th, bringing the songs of Break The Clasp to a live audience for the first time. Additional tour dates will be announced in the months ahead.

LAE Live:
9/05/2015 L’Hemisphere Gauche – Montreal, QC w/ The City Gates + invite [info]

Following its initial digital and digipak CD release of LAE’s Break The Clasp in November, the album is now available for preorder in its most expansive edition yet, as the massive double-LP version is set for a September street date. A co-released title between The Compound Recs and Battleground Records, the wax version is pressed on two massive slabs of 180-gram black vinyl with poly-lined inner sleeves, a full-color gatefold cardboard outer sleeve with front and back spot varnish with a free digital download card, fully shrink-wrapped with a cover sticker, displaying the otherworldly cover art by Sonny Kay (The VSS, Angel Hair, Gold Standard Laboratories label, etc.) and LAE’s incredible songwriting in an ultra-deluxe format.

Set for release on September 25th, preorders for the 2xLP version of Break The Clasp as well as the CD versions are now available via The Compound HERE and Battleground HERE. All preordered copies will ship ahead of street date.

LAE frontman Steve Austin also recently scored the upcoming Hollywood release of Addiction: A 60’s Love Story.

LAE / TODAY IS THE DAY Frontman Steve Austin Scores Hollywood Film, Addiction: A 60’s Love Story; Updates on LAE Vinyl And TODAY IS THE DAY Tour

Steve Austin-studio

Steve Austin, iconic frontman for visionary metal trio, TODAY IS THE DAY, and post-hardcore quintet, LAE, has completed his first full-on solo recording, in the form of an original score for the upcoming Hollywood release of Addiction: A 60’s Love Story.

Directed by Tate Steinseck (Face Off) and set for release through Breaking Glass Pictures, Addiction: A 60’s Love Story takes place in New York City, in 1968. A short synopsis; Max Bornstein had the wit, looks and charm that would carry him beyond the typical man’s troubles. He was untouchable… Yet the typical man’s troubles were the least of Max’s worries: He was a full-time dope fiend and a part-time father working within the underground, highly illegal pornography industry. The film stars Evanna Lynch (Harry Potter), Ian Harding (Pretty Little Liars), Carol Kane (Dog Day Afternoon), Ray Santiago (Ash Vs. Evil Dead), Michael Badalucco (O Brother Where Art Thou?) and more, with Steve Austin handling the original score as an associate producer.

Created at his own Austin Enterprise Studio — the origin of groundbreaking albums from Deadguy, Burn The Priest/Lamb Of God, Jello Biafra, in addition to TODAY IS THE DAY, and LAE — the iconic Steve Austin created a dark, afflicted, psychedelic soundtrack to match the film’s delivery. Additionally, several of Austin’s prior recordings were worked into the soundtrack. The song “Outlaw” from TODAY IS THE DAY’s tenth LP, Animal Mother, a psychedelic reworking of the title track to the band’s classic Temple Of The Morning Star LP, as well as the emotional “Broken Knee” ballad by Austin-fronted post-hardcore outfit, LAE, and their debut LP, Break The Clasp.

Issues Austin on the soundtrack, “Two years ago, my good friend Tate Steinseck asked me if I wanted to do the original score for this film; after reading the script, I immediately said yes! The film is set in the 1960s. Rather than go for a retro vibe, I set out to make a score for this film that could enhance the seedy, criminal vibe going on. Dirty, smoky jazz, psychedelic keyboards, and in general a vibe that makes you feel the duality of what the main character Max Bornstein, is going through. When I got the final cut of the film, I locked myself away in my studio and watched the film over and over again. The main character in the film struggles with normal family life and the dark side of drug addiction and selling illegal pornography. I was deeply affected by this film. For days, I felt like I had fallen into the dark and insane world that Max was living in back in the 1960s and 1970s. It’s a true story, that really hits hard.”

Addiction: A 60’s Love Story is set to premiere in Hollywood on November 3rd, 2015. View the film’s official trailer at Entertainment Tonight Online HERE, and the official IMDB listing for the movie HERE.

Break The Clasp, the debut LP from LAE — the Montreal-based psychedelic post-hardcore outfit which features Steve Austin on lead vocals and production/mastering — is finally nearing its availability on vinyl, following its CD and digital release in November. The incredibly expansive torrent of emotions contained on the nearly hour-long album features standout performances from each member, through the use of countless types of guitars and amplification, an arsenal of keyboards, organs, synths and pianos, trumpet, singing saw, accordion, electronics and more. The thirteen-track journey through Live, Hope, Love and Death now sees an incredible 2xLP release, pressed on two massive slabs of 180-gram black vinyl with poly-lined inner sleeves, a full-color gatefold cardboard outer sleeve with front and back spot varnish and free digital download. A co-released title with The Compound Recs. and Battleground Records, the vinyl version of Break The Clasp is now available for preorder via The Compound HERE and Battleground HERE.

DIE CHOKING: Decibel Magazine Debuts “The Prince Of Population” From The Compound Recs-Bound III LP; Band To Support Catharsis This Friday

Die Choking Jul15

Still over two months ahead of its release, another scorching track from DIE CHOKING’s impending III debut LP has been haphazardly fired point-blank into the masses early, with a stream of its fifth track, “The Prince Of Population,” premiered via Decibel Magazine.

Unhinged Philadelphia-based trio, DIE CHOKING — featuring ex and current members of Total Fucking Destruction, Cop Problem, and Burden — dispatches some of the most jagged riffage and pummeling percussive execution one can envision. An unbelievably dense, relentless display of some of the heaviest grindcore ever conceived, III was written during the shitty Northeastern Winter months; it is an album stripped of overproduction, performed with devastating efficiency, and dripping with a foul aggression that is frequently absent in today’s extreme music landscape. There are no samples, no triggers; the band simply drilled the takes until they hit it, the album recorded, engineered, and mixed by Will Yip at Studio 4 (Lauryn Hill, Blacklisted, Cop Problem) and mastered by Brad Boatright at Audiosiege (Nails, Skinless, Integrity), and its cover art designed by guitarist Jeffrey V Daniels. As with DIE CHOKING’s self-titled and II 7” releases, Earsplit’s DIY label, The Compound Recs, will release III in conjunction with the band. Decibel Magazine blasts the fifth track from III, “The Prince Of Population,” directly into the public’s collective face, the song a prime example of the harsh crust/punk attributes this debut LP bears over DIE CHOKING’s prior EPs.

Unload DIE CHOKING’s “The Prince Of Population” exclusively through Decibel Magazine RIGHT HERE.

The LP’s “Death’s Waveform” was recently released via Cvlt Nation HERE and half of the band’s headlining set in Brooklyn last week playing at Metal Injection HERE.

III will see digital release on October 8th and the vinyl on October 23rd. The LP is being pressed on 180-gram wax in three insane color variants — 100 in an A Side/B Side black-base 2 Blue Splatter, exclusive to The Compound, available HERE, and 200 each of Blues Of The Mighty Haze and Blue & Bone Splatter Milky Clear available through the band HERE. Stand by for digital preorders.

DIE CHOKING’s ongoing live rampage continues, as the band will support the return of the iconic Catharsis to Philadelphia after a sixteen-year gap, this Friday, August 7th. Additional shows throughout the Northeast with Today Is The Day, Abigail Williams, The Drip, Eaten, Grin And Bear It, Hivelords, Belus, Grizzlor, Old Lines and more are also confirmed through September, and October sees the band on their first West Coast US tour, still being finalized. DIE CHOKING will make their maiden raid of Europe in February as well.
